Studio Gardia, the story

Our story

Hello, nice to meet you! I'm Gala, the creator of Studio Gardia.

Behind the studio

Trained in fashion design at Studio Berçot in Paris, I have always loved material research, playing with textures, colors, and all those details that give character to a garment or an outfit.

Then, one day, I discovered machine embroidery. It was a real revelation: drawing with thread, imagining my own patterns, combining colors, and watching the design take shape, with that unique ability of machine embroidery to create clean, precise, and graphic forms.

That is where the desire to create Studio Gardia was born.

Taking embroidery out of its frame

With Studio Gardia, the idea was to work with embroidery differently, to divert it from its traditional use, play with its codes, and turn it into a piece of jewelry in its own right.

I particularly enjoy the composition work. I love playing with graphic shapes and finding the right balance between the different elements.

Playing with matte, shiny, or metallic threads is also part of my creative process.

An idea can come from a shape, a color combination, a detail glimpsed somewhere, or simply a whim of the moment.

03

A pop and colorful universe

Studio Gardia is a pop, graphic, and colorful universe, often inspired by the aesthetics of the 80s and 90s, which I love.

Second-hand items are also a real source of inspiration: a print, a color, a pattern, or a detail from a thrifted piece can become the starting point for a new embroidery design.

I really love the idea that inspiration can come from anywhere, mix together, and give birth to something new.

Following this same logic, I also try to incorporate second-hand materials, such as leather or fabric scraps, into my creations as much as possible.

Small batches, always in motion

The work is done in small batches, with models that can remain over time while evolving through new colorways.

Some colors are offered in limited editions and may disappear once sold out. New models and capsule collections also enrich the collection throughout the seasons.

This way of working allows me to keep a lot of freedom and to evolve Studio Gardia according to my desires and inspirations.

Imagined and embroidered in Montreuil

All Studio Gardia creations are imagined and embroidered in my workshop in Montreuil.

Behind every pair, there are several steps: the drawing, the creation of the embroidery pattern, the choice of threads, the embroidery, and then the hand-finishing and assembly.
